From a different BR Wayback Machine
Author: gbmott

With a nod to Duncan for having started this, here are three of mine from 1984-5.

1.  26034 at Kyle of Lochalsh, 8-84
2.  37025 at Strathcarron 9-20-85
3.  37260 at Kyle (?) 8-84

OK, one sequence from July 1991 that, I think, reflects a BR that pretty much doesn't exist today.  This was a 'box on the freight-only branch that served a coal-fired power station near Ironbridge.  Perhaps one of you Brits can flesh out the details a bit.

Is that a "token" being handed off in the next to last photo?

Definitely like your photo posting.
The first photo is outstanding.

Yes, Ironbridge ceased generating at the end of 2016, the line is currently dormant. It was surprising it lasted that long but owner RWE converted to biomass for the last couple of years.

Gosh I've got one from 1980 from Kyle of Lochalsh remarkably similar with a Class 26, but with some freight, er - goods, wagons.  Check it out!

That last one at Kyle of Lochalsh is a short empty ballast train.
