Norwegian railroad on TV in the USA
Author: Englewood

I recently connected a Roku box to my TV.
Pluto TV has a channel, Slow TV, that broadcasts
hours of Norwegian railroad filmed from the
engine.

What is the story behind this?  Is it the same trip
over and over or is the route varied? Is it recently
recorded or vintage?

Since my main interest is rules and operation can
someone point me to a site that explains the various
signs and signal aspects?

I did do a search on TO but the most recent post was three years
old so I am wondering if there is any new info.

It is a very relaxing channel to watch.

Thank you in advance for any information.

These are known in Norway as "Slow TV."  A number of the NRK cab scenes are between Oslo and Bergen.  However, others include the Oftenbanen out of Narvik, Oslo to Trondheim, Trondheim to Bodo.

if interested, watch the show on Hurtigruten, that was 100+ hours straight filming on the voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes.

A good number of these videos can be seen on YouTube as well.

Ha det bra,
Sven Molson

Some time back they offered downloads from their website (they may still do so).  I was able to get a 7+ hour complete full screen trip from Oslo to Bergen.  Fantastic experience in full screen.  I've never played it non stop yet, though!
