European Railroad Discussion > Rhine River Cruise & RR DoingsDate: 05/18/21 09:01 Rhine River Cruise & RR Doings Author: pbrasky Two summers ago my wife and I took a Rhine River cruise (Basel -> Amsterdam). Aside from the spectacular scenery and excellent wine, there were a few RR surprises. When we first boarded our ship in Basel, there was enough time to wander around the port. Here is a scrap metal plant with covered hopper and its unique trucks. Several days later, we saw a genuine steamship. I almost missed this shot because I was so surprised.
