I wonder if it replaced a failed 87 given the train is Mk3 stock (110mph) but the loco is only 100mph and much less powerful (3,200hp vs 5,000hp). I'm no passenger train expert but I assume if it was a passenger train actually booked for an 85/81 it wouldn't have been mk 3 stock. |
