Steam on the Marches Line
Author: 86235

Two trains on Saturday, LNER design 3 cylinder A1 Pacific 60163 Tornado from Bristol to Chester and LMS 4 cylinder Duchess Pacific 6223 Duchess of Sutherland from Hereford to Birmingham.

There were serious delays following a fatality on the line earlier so the Duchess was almost an hour late leaving Hereford and was cautioned at Pontrilas on account of trespassers. So it was about 75 late and almost dark when it approached Llanvihangel, slipping as it climbed the bank.

AN excellent photo and super awesome video.
In fact, I've watched the video several times.
Couldn't get the number on the diesel pusher.  Do you have it?
Thanks for an outstanding posting.
