To celebrate the centenary of the introduction of the GWR's Castle Class four cylinder 4-6-0s, Vintage Trains ran a double headed railtour yesterday, from Birmingham to Birmingham via Shrewsbury, Hereford and Gloucester.

Two Castles were employed, 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcombe (built 1936) and 7029 Clun Castle (built 1950) but because of the prolonged dry spell we're currently experiencing, the two steam locomotives were being assisted by a class 47 on the rear.
