Oh, yes. It took a lot of people by surprise, myself included. I never associated the Mediterranean with snow.

Try the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus - They say you can ski down the mountain in the morning and swim in the sea in the afternoon. I'll tell you that if it's cold enough to ski - it's too damn cold to be in the sea! I've seen snow (a brief flurry) in Limassol which is on the southern coast

Amazing. I had thought California was the only place where you could go skiing and surfing on the same day, but I think there is skiing in Hawai'i too. Note the politically correct spelling of "Hawai'i."
