Deutsche Bahn - GDL on Strike!

The Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokomotivführer (GDL / engineer) union is on strike for 5 days in Germany. This is causing massive cancellations of passenger and freight trains all over Germany. Some routes operated by different companies are still running. And so are a limited number of DB trains.

Sadly this has been an onoging issue for several months. 5 days is the longest strike in recent history.

In my small experience, the unions in Europe stage one day strikes, which paralyzes everything.  Five days.....whoa

Garbage pick up strike last year in Paris went on for 3 weeks.
