European Railroad Discussion > Detour on the Milan-Venice main line in mid-August

Like erielackawanna, we too wil be traveling in Italy this August and September. I just found out that the line between Milan and Venice will be closed between Verona and Padua for 2 weeks in mid-August for constructing a connection to a new high speed rail ine. Unfortunately this will add about 2 hours to the usual 2.5hr FrecciaRosa travel time. Do any of our European board members know what lines the MIlan-Venice expresses will detour over -- I might as well celebrate the chance to get some rare mileage:-)

Not really rare mileage, the only plausible route is via
Bologna to the south all other posibilities involve non-
electrified lines.
