Nice concept.  Any idea how long this has been happening?

That's cool. Wondering what the most "charming" light rail route in North America would be to start trolley dining?

If by "unique" you mean "the only one in the world" I can think of several others, Brussels, Christchurch (New Zealand) and Zurich come to mind but there are some others.

And Melbourne Australia had a very popular restaurant tram service that operated from 1982 to 2018. We were able to enjoy great meals on it twice.

Helsinki has a pub tram too, or at least it did when I was there in 2012.

Not sure when they actually started but it still runs.

I did not mean unique as in the only one, I meant in the more broader sense, probably more unusual tram experiences would have been a better way to describe it.

Booking is a bit of a pain, the Italians have a knack of making easy things hard, instead of a rolling calendar they release blocks at a time at irregular times, they also fill up very quickly when released. That said well worth it.

When I lived in Rome (2001-2007), there was a tram that would take you to several restaurants that had been selected. I don't think there was food on the tram, except possibly some snacks and drinks. I never availed myself of the service, unfortunately. When it was in service, it was often parked near Stazione Ostiense.
