It then enters a short tunnel under the Mussenden Temple, an eighteenth century estate library built on a cliff high above the Atlantic. NIR runs hourly services on the route, using CAF-built class 4000 DMUs, operating either as six car sets, or paired three car sets.

- A train from Belfast, made up of two 3-car 4000 class sets, approaches Londonderry/Derry station on the River Foyle. - A six car set covering a Derry - Belfast run enter Coleraine station. - A three car set awaits departure from Colraine for a run down the short branch to Portrush. NIR passenger services are covered by class 3000 and 4000 CAF DMUs, with the exception of the Enterprise Service linking Belfast with Dublin in the Irish Republic. That service is jointly operated with Irish national operator CIE. Dave ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 10/08/24 07:32 Re: Racing along the beach - Northern Ireland Author: dwatry Nice shots!
