European Railroad Discussion > Portuguese RDC knock-off?Date: 10/11/24 18:26 Portuguese RDC knock-off? Author: DavidP Portugal's state operator CP uses class 450 two-car DMUs on non-electrified local services around the country. The powered car bears a passing resemblance to a Budd RDC. They were built in the mid-1960s as class 400, and upgraded to current form in the late 1990s. Here are three pictures taken in the southern city of Faro in July. The 450s cover local services from Faro west to Lagos, and East to Vila Real de Santo Antonio on the Spanish border.
