Retired ALe642 EMUs pulled through Monterosso Italy
Author: erielackawanna

In the true meaning of a "deadhead," a set of retired and badly tagged ALe642 EMUs are pulled through Monterosso, Italy. The FS ALe 642 electric multiple units, manufactured by AnsaldoBreda, Firema, Stanga, and Metalmeccanica Lucana between 1991 and 1995, served Italy's regional railways until their retirement in 2024.

I've had the pleasure of expierencing Italian railroads on more than one occasion  Well run, comfortable rolling stock and with a good system of destinations.  Very much like the Germans.  I guess the answer to good rail service is to have the country destroyed by war and then rebuilt to accomodate good rail service.  The Brits do a good job, too except they always seem wired to the pissed off position.
