European Railroad Discussion > Passenger Parade at Trastevere-Roma 9/21/24Date: 11/20/24 18:19 Passenger Parade at Trastevere-Roma 9/21/24 Author: erielackawanna Opened in 1911, the Roma-Trastevere station is a busy suburban location, with multiple commuter and main line trains passing through on many tracks. I spent a couple hours there on 9/21 and am sharing a sample of some of the passenger trains that pass through.
Image one - Bombardier E464 TRAXX P160 DCP 656 pushes FS Trenitalia Regionale FL5 Line 12551 from Civitavecchia to Rome. Image two - FS Trenitalia Intercity 518 from Rome to Ventimiglia is but minutes into its 7 hour and 42 minute long trek to the Côte d'Azur and the French border. It's a trip I've taken in the past, but wouldn't on this trip. Power is a CAF rebuilt E401. Image three - A Rome to Pisa set of Rock cars is early into its journey as train RV4136 as it passes the platform at Trastevere-Roma. This commuter run is 43 miles (or 45 minutes).
Image five - FS Trenitalia Frecciabianca ES 8613 from Genova to Rome passes by under the auspices of Fiat ETR485 Pendolino #40. The train is just a few minutes away from its final stop at Roma Termini. Image six - FS Trenitalia Frecciabianca 8626 from Rome to Genova begins its run. The ETR485 Pendolino #24 will reach Genova in a bit less than five hours. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/20/24 18:29 by erielackawanna. I often would take the train from Ostiense to San Pietro, since it was faster and more comfortable than taking buses to get to the Vatican area. San Pietro station had a model train display (at least at some times) and a Christmas tree on the platform during Yuletide. Happy memories!

Nice to see my favorite Class E464 electrics in this territory too. A lot to enjoy in beautiful sunny weather - thanks much.
