European Railroad Discussion > Riding trains for Christmas in Italy 🇮🇹Date: 12/24/24 01:27 Riding trains for Christmas in Italy 🇮🇹 Author: dmaffei A Southern Pacific fan riding trains in Italy this Christmas. Italo train I rode from Rome to Florence Italy Station on the left. Very refreshing to see how the Italians embrace their trains.
Happy Holidays. Buon Natale. Dave Maffei Date: 12/24/24 08:54 Re: Riding trains for Christmas in Italy 🇮🇹 Author: colehour Thanks for the photos -- and the memories. When I lived in Rome (2001-2007) I used public transportation a lot. I remember that a train trip from Florence (SMN) to Rome and then by bus to my home (near Piramide) took only two hours. Amazing! I think rail service has probably improved since I left.Â
I bought a yearly pass good on all modes of transportation in and around Rome. When I left it was 256 Euros -- quite a bargain, I thought. It was also good on trains within certain limits.  Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/25/24 09:04 by colehour. Date: 01/09/25 01:28 Re: Riding trains for Christmas in Italy 🇮🇹 Author: dmaffei |
