European Railroad Discussion > Article on Rhätische BahnDate: 12/24/24 22:10 Article on Rhätische Bahn Author: SOO6617 There is a great article on RhB freight services
in the January 2025 edition of Today's Railways Europe written by Toma Bacic. The RhB is a fascinating railway that operated 580k metric tonnes of freight and produced 38.06 million tonne-km. They have 320 freight cars in service of many types, including a Schnabel car. Though it is rarely used. Shocking to me is that Groceries and Dry Goods made up the largest volume of traffic by revenue at 36%. Date: 12/25/24 01:02 Re: Article on Rhätische Bahn Author: 86235 SOO6617 Wrote:

I would also commend the article about the Divača to Koper line in Slovenia, and the changes that are coming. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/25/24 01:03 by 86235. I would imagine in the Winter bringing groceries in by train is the easiest way to keep some villages supplied. |
