European Railroad Discussion > About an hour in Zell am See, AustriaDate: 02/07/25 13:22 About an hour in Zell am See, Austria Author: NMlurker After lunch I had about an hour in Zell am See before my train back to Bischofshofen and captured three passenger trains. Once back in Bischofshofen I had to deal with the fact that my scheduled train to Linz, a railjet express (RJX) all the way to Vienna, was cancelled as were all RJX trains due to flooding between Linz and Vienna. I ended up with a REX3 to Salzburg where I somewhat mistakenly chose a local (all stops and slow) S2 train to Linz. I should have waited for the next railjet (RJ) and I would have gotten there faster.
1. A train of City Shuttle coaches being pushed by an ÖBB 1144-class. 2. Our old friend the greentec steel 1116-class Taurus makes an appearance with an ÖBB railjet. I had seen this locomotive the prior evening in Bischofshofen. 3. An ÖBB railjet in push mode arrives on an absolutely beautiful day in Austria. A red ÖBB 1116-class Taurus was pushing. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
