Railroaders' Nostalgia > Cherokee TaylorDate: 02/14/16 09:15 Cherokee Taylor Author: wabash2800 I know this is a long shot, but I haven't had much luck so far, so what the hey. From what I'm told, Engineer Claude S. Taylor was a full-blooded Cherokee and from the photo I have in my book, he looks it too. He worked the Wabash Fourth District and the N&W Gary District and has since passed away. Reportedly, his family lived in the Bryan, Ohio area. The usual searching and asking local historians has not turned up his kin. I would like to get a copy of my book to the family.
HIs name on the railroad was "Cherokee Taylor. At one time, I could access railroad retirement records for a small fee, but you have to be related now. His seniority date was August 23, 1953. Did anyone here know him or have any clues? Victor A. Baird http://www.erstwhilepublications.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/14/16 09:16 by wabash2800. |
