I would ride the Santa Fe's El Capitan to Los Angeles from Pomona and return on the Chief. These 3 Gentlemen would kinda take care of me. Unfortunately I have forgotten their names! had a temper. If a Passenger started asking to many dumb questions, he became short with them. I took this photo at LAUPT just before boarding "The Chief" in 1967/68. at Pomona about 11:35am. The pictures of the train crew were taken at Pomona and the Porter was at LAUPT. Trains #19 & #20 were The Chief. Edited 1 time(s). Author: RodneyZona Old Santa Fe RR train crews like the ones on the othe Chief in the first shot were based out of LA and Needles, CA and worked between Los Angeles and Needles. LA based engine crews worked between Los Angeles and Barstow, CA.
