BN SD9s were common on the St Joe sub in the 1990s. . Here's three shots of them, all ex CB&Q.moving freight eastbound towards KC.
1. 6160 with a sister and a Geep at French, 1 Oct 1994.
2. 6164 with a Geep at Waldron, 21 Jan 1995.
3. 6181 with 6176 at Waldron, 1 Nov 1994.

Pretty cool. My favorite locomotive… not many left anymore on the BNSF. 1 in good order and available to work, the BNSF 1551.

Was it common for those to not have snow plows? I notice that in your photos, none of them are equipped.

Nice trio. You probably meant to post this on Nostalgia and History. No big deal. Once there is a reply, you can't move it.

I remember the 6181 here in Omaha. Notice, no dynamic brakes, and this IS a former CB&Q unit.
