The Double heading Cock!
Author: ApproachCircuit

On our earlier diesels, Geeps, etc,. there was a small metal hood that you open up to access the double heading cock. it was on the floor near the control stand but not that easy to spot.
The little hood got dented over the years. Just a bit of trivia for the old heads!

Beer keg mars light on the SP Cadillacs and Geeps. I always thought that was the coolest thing on the engine. Maybe put on hood units  with steam generators?

By the time I went firing on the SCL in 1971, I don't recall still having any hoods over the double heading cocks on our first generation power.  Many 24RL equipped engines still had the factory cover over the Rotair valve.  That was good thing because that was a good location to prop your left foot.
