Like it!

Looks great.  I'm glad they did the TAG.  On at least one occasion, I had the old TAG GP38 "John A. Chambliss".

That just adds more credance to everyone's complaint that CSX should have done full repaint,
that unit is very nice looking!

Now if only CSX could take a cue from NS and paint their heritage units in the heritage scheme from front to back!  I find the CSX mashup to be a visual mess.

The CSX blue clashes with most other blues. Doesn't look good with black, either.

I could not agree with you more. CSX needs to take a lesson from NS on this. 
 

Definitely agree....CSX should be painting the entire locomotive.  The blue clashes with some paint schemes.

Actually it doesn't....what CSX chose to do is what they chose to do...we weren't there in the smoke filled room so have no say. 

I wonder if NS has other heritage units in the works?  Or military honor units?  Or salutes to major shippers?

We can keep beating a dead horse about the CSX 3/4 heritage paint but it most likely won't change a thing.  It's my belief that CSX has the least variety of mainline power out of all the class ones and in my view at least these provide something DIFFERENT from the endless parade of box car scheme GE's.

I agree, and I am grateful that CSX is doing something.

However that does not mean that we cannot discuss the aesthetics. I think if CSX would choose different colors for the nose and cab colors that blend better, the results could be stunning, but still embrace CSX's unifying concept. After all, NS has chosen different color noses on some of its rebuilds.

I’ve heard more Heritage units are coming

Patience....there is a loco in primer paint in Altoona right now.
