I'll be based in Albany, NY for a couple days, and three days more starting this thursday. I'd like to head west and find the MLW's but I could use a little help if some would like to point me in the proper direction. Thanks.

Don't head west, head southwest. Go to Binghamton. I'm no expert on NYSW operations on the Southern Tier, but they seem to arrive Binghamton at dawn from NJ on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. They tie up east of BD behind the Burger King. Shop guys drive over and do an inspection. Then a crew reports and the train heads for Syracuse, leaving about 08:30.

This could have changed completely. Hopefully one of the NYSW fans will reply. There is a Yahoo group: NYSW-ST that reports train movements.
