I am told that CSX had a derailment of a coal train at Carey, Ohio. Does anyone have anything further on this?

Yes, it happened last week, May 29th to be exact. Westbound unit coal train for Consumer Power hit a what looks like a sun kink. 18 cars total. No injuries, and other the destruction of virtually brand new hopper cars, no other damage (i.e. private property) occured.

were those the new PSTX 2100-2200 series gons? I've been seeing them on the PRB
trains that go to Consumers Power (West Olive)

Indeed they were the new cars. Most were in the 2200 series.

Where was TO News and THE REST OF THE OHIO FOAMERS? WHAT none of you live closer than I do?!?!

The C&O is/was a big coal hauler and I never saw it here. Good thing for WOHrails on Yahoo and WTOL..

We weren't asleep at the switch, we were all discussing on it on the WesternOhioRails yahoo group. Can't answer for trainorders news, which apparently just skims through posting on trainorders....
