Tampa Florida's Uceta Yard: Is it Still there? If not, what became of the site? Any rails left or any trace of it? Do you know what street to look it up on Map quest for an overview? Do they still do any locomotive work there? If not, where? Thank you for any information, Charles

Uceta Shops and Yard is alive and well. Try US Hwy 41, Orient Road or SR 60.

Uceta Yard (the former ACL yard) serves as the intermodal and loco servicing facility for CSX in the Tampa Area. Carload freight is handled at Yeoman Yard (former SAL) to the south.

The other facility is Rockport Yard, where phosphate from the Bone Valley is transloaded to ships.

I haven't checked recently, but CSX used to run a pair of daily intermodal trains into Uceta and a pair of mixed freight trains into Yeoman. There are also a number of locals, including a daily turn to Brandenton/Oneco and a daily turn to Brooksville. Phosphate trains run all the time.

There is still some nifty street trackage in Tampa. It's a funky place.
