Thursday mornin' comin' down...Sandpatch

Actually it is Manilla, and a unit coaler (left) passes the Cumberland helper (right) in the pocket after pushing a westbound to the top. It'e about 8:30 am on 7-24-08. See the changing CSXT paint.

Interesting...I haven't been to Sand Patch for several months but my last visit I noticed an absence of SD50 helpers...a east slop staple for over 20 years...what have you been seeing up there lately?

Almost looks as though they didn't paint the nose to YN3 on the 8780.

I thought CSX had a bunch of loco's that had "bad paint" -- as in fading to that dull yellow hue?

4818 would have painted by EMD, while 8780 would be a recent repaint. Looks like they used BF yellow, rather than DF "gold".
