I saw earlier today, that CSX had cars on the ground in West Tennessee, near Memphis. There was a quick overhead shot on Headline News, and that's all I saw.

Why is the majority of train wrecks coal trains?

Coincidence, or it could be the weight of the trains... (Before anyone says it this isn't another crack of mine against CSX track)...

Because the majority of traffic on the railroad is coal.

that and the weather is getting cold. Steel rail doesn't like temperature changes.

Train was N894, I've heard 13 cars and 18 cars as figures for how many derailed...

On my 256 mile run last night, there were two instances of broken rails. None of which had an effect on me, but these somewhat warm-ish days and really cold nights really find the weak points of the rail!

This is the season for broken rails! Even at 10MPH, they can get all over the ground.
