Eastern Railroad Discussion > Did you feel that?!?! (Earthquake/Tremor)Date: 12/16/08 05:05 Did you feel that?!?! (Earthquake/Tremor) Author: DoctorEvil Was awakened twice this morning here in Summerville, SC by tremors. The first very minor, but the second was as fairly strong. Checked with everyone at my house and everyone else felt at least the second one, so I know I'm not going crazy. (or we all are...) Anyways just wanted to put the word out for anyone interested. On a side note, my good friend Tim (Trainchaser here on TO) just started work on CSXT as a track worker so I am sure he will be doing some hi-railing today! Have fun there Tim! I'm going back to bed. lol

(Earthquake/Tremor) Author: ctillnc Don't laugh -- Charleston had a major earthquake in 1886 with estimated Richter between 6.6 and 7.3. Along the Atlantic coast where the soils are sandy, liquefaction is a high risk.

liquefaction is a high risk. And if liquefaction happens, what, exactly will happen? Date: 12/17/08 17:11 Re: Did you feel that?!?! (Earthquake/Tremor) Author: ctillnc |
