Some random shots from around the Pittsburgh area on Saturday, February 28.

First shot is of CSX 4720 with a W&LE unit at Rook Yard in Greentree. Locomotives were pointed west. I suspect this may be from the coke train that has been running lately but I saw no hoppers. Somewhat of an odd site on the W&LE at Rook.

Second photo is of the same units sitting at Rook.

Third photo is a Norfolk Southern freight that has just crossed the PRR's Ohio Connecting bridge and is about to head East on the old PRR Monongahela Division.

Photo one is a Norfolk Southern train heading over the Ohio Connecting Bridge about to turn East onto the former Monongahela Division of the PRR.

Second photo is the Ohio Central power stored in McKee's Rocks for the weekend at the old PC&Y office.

Third photo is on Pittsburgh's Northside on the former PRR Fort Wayne Division as a 6 unit Norfolk Southern train crawls out of the city and towards Island Ave yard.

First photo P&OC is finishing up switching duties on a Friday in McKee's Rocks PA a few weeks ago.

Second photo is the Allegheny Valley Railroad's AVR-3 train heading into Washington for work at V-Bat Plastics. The shot was taken just West of Brady Tunnel as the train is drifting downgrade into Washington and is just about to pass the new plastics plant at the site of the former Metro and later Ball glass house.

The third photo is of the P&OC arden run heading back to McKee's Rocks on Monday. The train is about to go under the Hahn road overpass about a mile and a half from Bell Tunnel.

First photo is the P&OC fighting a snow squall on approach to the Bridgeville station heading to Arden on the former PRR Chartiers Branch.

Second photo is the P&OC in Arden and the Washington Penn Plastics plant switching out empty covered hoppers.

Third photo is the AVR-3 having just crossed the bridge over West Maiden Street in Washington enroute to Washington's West end to drop off empty gondolas and handle switching at V-bat plastics.

AVR-3 has just drifted into Washington, PA and crossed over Maiden Street on approach to the old B&O Station on the Wheeling Pittsburgh Sub.
