N&W CPL at Chillicothe, Ohio

Lots of attention lately about C&O signals in Ohio and West Virginia, but what I haven't heard lately is if the high bracket-mast N&W-style CPL at Chillicothe, Ohio, is still standing. Anyone?

Thanks, CG. Suspected it might be, but couldn't recall reading anything about it actually happening. I can strike that off the to-do list, entering it in the "undone" category....

Yep, replaced with a cantilever about 2 months ago now. Still a few CPL's in Columbus but next one RR east are at Spring Lane in Portsmouth.

Patch

I guess that means you better get your a__ down here and get your pics of the C & O signals before it is too late for those too. My friend Chuck sent me a picture of some recently erected Safetrans just West of the Greenup Lock and Dam in Kentucky, so it is coming fast. If you come down here to the beautiful ancient Teays River Valley on Sunday give me a PM and maybe you can hook up with my friend and I. Come down real early and maybe I'll treat you to Tudor's.

Actually, I managed to hit the Vauces area pretty hard one Sunday some years ago when there were hurricane detours running via the C&O. Haven't done much around the river bridge, though, so I've still got reason to get there eventually. (What's Tudor's?)

The Sunday after Summerail my wife and I are going to Louisville for a 2p baseball game; will probably do the Short Line or Louisville area stuff beforehand.

It's good that at least you got a start. The C & O Northern Sub isn't that hard to follow and there are places that can be seen from some distance but have no access without some serious trespassing. Tudor's is the shortened name of Tudor's Biscuit World http://www.tudorsbiscuitworld.com/ a West Virginia institution, although a few have located outside the state.

As for missing the N & W CPL in Chillicothe I think many feel your pain and have those items on the to do list that get put off only to find out that it's too late. It seams only more so with trainorders.com being available since me and my dad or friends have went to a lot more places than what I ever would have without knowing things existed or were about to cease to exist.
