SLR Intermodal

This is a April 1997 view of trailer loading on the St. Lawrence & Atlantic railroad in Auburn, Maine.
The current 2000 Annual report for the SLR indicates "We are optimistic about the further success of the "double stack" intermodal business and have set the wheels in motion to double the size of out intermodal terminal in Auburn, Maine to approxamately 35 acres before fiscal 2001 years end."

The photo below happens to be westbound PORJ at Athol, Mass. on October 23rd. Note the tank cars following the units. As reported earlier on trainorders.com, a new "intermodal fuel" facility is proposed for the SLR. So eventually a train similar to this one will be headed north from Portland, Me to the SLR at Danville, Jct. Me.

Trying something out for an upcoming presentation showing the value of hauling tradable commodities via tank cars instead of trucks.
Please do not construe this as investment advice.
