Date: 02/01/12 16:12 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: ghemr As an engineer, when I get on board I'm more concerned whether the heat/air conditioning works, how far do the chairs recline (very necessary when sitting at a red signal), how filthy is the cab from the previous crew, etc. How they actually pull a train or sound doesn't really matter---the train will get to it's destination regardless....

Definitely can understand that one! Date: 02/01/12 17:56 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: Bath_wildcat MagnumForce Wrote:

Because the ones with the EVO 16 are a little bit quicker on the draw. As a common everyday foamer, you notice the smaller things instead of the big picture at times. This is one of those smaller things I see In Lima, Ohio. Date: 02/01/12 18:19 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: DoctorThunder So you are able to process many number of variables that are completely unknown to you all from the ground and are someone who has never placed his hand on the throttle of a locomotive?
Date: 02/01/12 19:20 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: Bath_wildcat All I see it a little quicker take off from an AC6000CW with a EVO 16. Variables not need to be known to notice a quicke take off.

Date: 02/02/12 00:59 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: Smitty51 The AC6000's do pull and run good, especially when you got two MU-ed together, they also load faster than there AC4400 cousins.
Date: 02/02/12 01:03 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: AfroRon I think they have the best dynos out of anything out there. I'm not sure why they do so good but they do!

But what do you know - you run them. Surely not as much as someone watching you go by... Date: 02/02/12 05:50 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: DoctorThunder I proclaim to know nothing aside from the fact they sound different.

Thank you too, AfroRon. :) Date: 02/03/12 07:27 Re: AC6000CW on CSX question Author: espeefan What numbers have been re-engined? I had 675 last night out of Chicago and it sounded different.

Thanks for the informative responses from the employees. However it seems the responses to this reply are over the top. The poster never portrayed himself as an engineer he just stated observations that he has witnessed. No different than a nascar fan stating that car 1 is faster than car 2. Jay |
