Ain't Ugly No More

NS GP40-2 #3048 has been running around the Reading, Pa area on locals for a few years in a messed up CR blue paint scheme - until now. Today I photographed it in its new NS black scheme on local H47 at Deka Road in Lyons Station. The smoke is the exhaust trailing back from NS 5121 accelerating.

There will be more than one comment denying the new paint job as better - I am not one of them - Conrail is dead and it is time to move on...

Did the pig farm behind the GP40 smell any better today?
