My favorite commuter type of loco of all time. Man I wish someone made these in HO scale....

Has the unit been sold off?

Looks much longer than a standard F40PH. How long are these units? What makes them different from a standard F40PH?

These are about 8ft longer than a regular F40. They have the same truck spacing as a b40-8. These units have separate HEP pony motors, desktop controls, and an extra air reservoir to name a few differences as compared to a standard F40PH. Also, most crews seem to agree they ride better too.

Thats an F40PH-2C..Since the end of the unit had a electrical generator/special air compressor for HEP.

F40PHM-2C. This type was also made into -3 series for some commuter lines as well....ACE for one.

Not all of it....yet

M- Modified by Boise Locomotive in the past.....

but , this one is still an F40PH-2C. the MBTA roster http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locolist.aspx?id=MBTA&Page=2 still shows F40PH-2C so its not modified......yet

Correct. This one was also one of the few built by EMD as such, not MK.

MBTA 1050-1075

I don't believe EMD built any other -2C's other than the ones for the T.
