The MBTA traveling under the MPEX 1066 arrived in Willard Ohio today and waiting on its shipping papers sitting in the RX stub track Hope for a daylight picture tommorrow Tom Boylan Date: 02/12/12 21:37 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: KV1guy My favorite commuter type of loco of all time. Man I wish someone made these in HO scale....
Has the unit been sold off? Date: 02/12/12 23:44 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: jkchubbes Looks much longer than a standard F40PH. How long are these units? What makes them different from a standard F40PH?
Date: 02/13/12 05:06 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: KV1guy These are about 8ft longer than a regular F40. They have the same truck spacing as a b40-8. These units have separate HEP pony motors, desktop controls, and an extra air reservoir to name a few differences as compared to a standard F40PH. Also, most crews seem to agree they ride better too.

This type was also made into -3 series for some commuter lines as well....ACE for one. Date: 02/13/12 15:03 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: CR6444 KV1guy Wrote:

Not all of it....yet M- Modified by Boise Locomotive in the past..... but , this one is still an F40PH-2C. the MBTA roster http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locolist.aspx?id=MBTA&Page=2 still shows F40PH-2C so its not modified......yet CR Date: 02/13/12 15:25 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: tmurray Correct. This one was also one of the few built by EMD as such, not MK.
MBTA 1050-1075 I don't believe EMD built any other -2C's other than the ones for the T. -Tom CR6444 Wrote: ----------------------------------------------------- > Not all of it....yet > > M- Modified by Boise Locomotive in the past..... > > but , this one is still an F40PH-2C. the MBTA > roster > http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locolist.aspx?id= > MBTA&Page=2 still shows F40PH-2C so its not > modified......yet > > CR Date: 02/13/12 17:12 Re: MPEX 1066 Willard Ohio Author: KV1guy Thanks for the correction!!
