Eastern Railroad Discussion > Ann Arbor retires two of its three GP38sDate: 05/25/12 19:13 Ann Arbor retires two of its three GP38s Author: toledopatch It had been rumored for weeks that, with newer power on the property, Ann Arbor would get rid of at least some of its three ex-Conrail GP38s. Tonight the rumor was visually confirmed at the AA engine house in Toledo, where AA 7771 and 7791 had their Ann Arbor lettering and their numbers blacked out, including on the number boards. Don't know where they'll go or when they'll leave. Coming soon to a RailAmerica shortline near you?

I do not think these were actually painted orange during the time that the DT&I and AA were under common ownership, but the three GP38s have long been the only orange units on the AA property. I don't know what their power looked like during the Michigan Interstate years. Besides the orange units, here's what the rest of the current AA fleet looks like: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,2773737,2773737#msg-2773737 Edited 1 time(s).
