“Night at the Railroad Museum”
Saturday & Sunday
June 16 – June 17, 2012

CRAZY! That is what was said three years ago when Museum Officers and Directors first discussed keeping the Museum open over night!
Now in its third year, this weekend event is becoming the highlight of Summer! The Museum will open at NOON on Saturday and stay open until 4:00pm on Sunday. There is an unofficial contest to see who can stay up straight through… can you do it?
The June FREE Public Program at 8:00pm Saturday, is an integral part of this event. This year, Mr. John Slater, Director Emeritus of the Nickel Plate Historical Society returns for his fifth June Program. John will take us trackside to various locations around the eastern US and Canada to view a wide assortment of mainline rail activities, including steam excursions and trolley operations. This program will feature Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides from John's extensive personal collection, most of which have never been seen before!

Didn't Lake Shore have a fireless steamer that was operable? Whatever happened to that?

The Fire-less Steam locomotive is still at the Museum and operational.
