Anyone know the status of EMD SD45X #5740? Last I heard it was at National Railway Equipment.

That doesn't sound good. Hopefully one of the leasing companies(like CEFX) might have it rebuilt as an SD40m-2.

Not long ago it was spotted up at VMV Enterprises at Paducah KY pretty much stripped of most parts. It was moved there for rebuilding into an "SD40-2" however that plan was scrapped. I doubt there is much hope for it being rebuilt now.
