Will take a while to clear this one. For those not familiar, this is between Charlotte and the NC/SC line. Detours are difficult without reverse moves.

Actually northbound trains bound for Linwood from Greenville can take the W-Line from Spartanburg to Columbia and then turn north for Charlotte up the R-Line. Southbound trains can do the opposite without any reverse moves being required. Of course, the Columbia district probably doesn't have enough crews to handle too many reroutes if they decide to run any that way.

Good point. I was thinking of the ex-SAL into Charlotte from the west.

20 made a station stop at Gastonia and then Charlotte (5 hrs 40 mins late). Either they sat in Gastonia and waited for an open track, or they ran up the P&N to Mt Holly.

This is odd that 118 derailed last week in GA and now 119 in NC.
