Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS 173 at Landis, NC 4/14/01Date: 04/14/01 14:44 NS 173 at Landis, NC 4/14/01 Author: KNTower Landis, NC is one of the more photogenic locations on the NS Washington-Atlanta mainline. The small town is located at Milepost 345, about thirty miles north of Charlotte. Trees line the tracks, the lawn is usually well kept, and a gazebo opposite the station makes for a pleasant place to watch trains.
Here at 2:42PM NS train 173P314 heads south behind an ex-Conrail SD60 and two other NS units. Power is 6705/2550/6633 (SD60/SD70/SD60). KN Tower Date: 04/14/01 17:47 RE: NS 173 at Landis, NC 4/14/01 Author: skunk Very Nice. Looks a little warmer than up here in Indiana. Whats the status on the depot?

The depot and the town's original post office are in a small historic area alongside the tracks. KN Tower Date: 04/15/01 08:03 RE: NS 173 at Landis, NC 4/14/01 Author: radioman2 Glad to see some local pic's on the net.
