Eastern Railroad Discussion > Freshly repainted EJ&E 666Date: 11/05/12 21:36 Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: dt8089 Date: 11/05/12 21:55 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: IC_2024 Great shot! Another #666 unit, too... Hopefully she won't be hexed by the number of the beast... IIRC, BNSF had one on their roster that we would meet from time to time.
Date: 11/05/12 22:35 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: WrongMain Nice picture, but I disagree. CN red & black will never look as good as EJ&E DayGlow Orange, especially on the legendary "devil" engine, 666.

Date: 11/05/12 23:24 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: RyanWilkerson Still a nice night shot, no matter what your color preference.
Fresh black helps for night shots...very easy for worn black to blend in with the dark sky. Thanks for posting Dan. Ryan Wilkerson Fair Oaks, CA Date: 11/06/12 03:31 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: RockIsland4310 Looks good, thanks for posting.
But like others, I will miss the J as well (and their orange paint). Date: 11/06/12 04:24 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: toledopatch I'd rather it were orange, but I'd certainly like to get a shot of it in its new clothes, too.
The ATSF 666 was later renumbered 599 because of the superstition. Date: 11/06/12 07:31 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: mkostecky Anyone want to make a wager when the B&LE will get the same Mistreatment!!!??? LOL
Date: 11/06/12 09:21 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: jo-tower Well at least it's not UP yellow.
Date: 11/06/12 11:15 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: SooLine700 I would wager the B&LE will be spun off someday before a Bessemer unit get painted CN. CN had to take the B&LE, PCD and Great Lakes Fleet in order to get the the Missabe so they could have the mainline from the MN Iron Range to the Twin Ports and connect the former DWP and WC properties.

Date: 11/06/12 12:41 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: icancmp193 Don't like seeing small railroads and their schemes go away, but IMO the CN scheme, when clean, is one of, if not the best of the Class I everyday (i.e. non-heritage) schemes.
Tom Y Date: 11/06/12 18:05 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: aussiehinz Very nice night shot. And you caught a unit in the CN scheme at the only time it will ever be clean: immediately after a repaint.

Date: 11/07/12 11:27 Re: Freshly repainted EJ&E 666 Author: NebraskaZephyr With the EJ&E being merged into WC (as was the DM&IR and DW&P) I wonder if this will be the last unit to carry EJE sub-lettering?
Nice catch, Dan. NZ |
