On Monday, November 12, a holiday for many, WMS was run by those who "paid to play". Railfans paid to operate the steam engine between Cash Valley Rd. (at Helmstetter's Curve) and Woodcock Hollow Rd. This segment was chosen so as not to go over any public highway crossings with amateurs in the right seat. They earned a "certificate" attesting to their engineering prowess.

1. Crew change on Helmstetter's Curve. Among those completing their runs is the Managing Editor of "Railfan & Railroad".

2. Preparing to depart up the hill with a new "crew".

3. Obviously a "crummy" train.....what with only a caboose in tow.

Essex Valley in Conn. does it too in the spring . i paid $450 2 years ago . Great experience , Mikado engine .
