Eastern Railroad Discussion > Three yellow stripes, three red stripes (NS NKP)Date: 11/15/12 15:16 Three yellow stripes, three red stripes (NS NKP) Author: erie833 The Nickel Plate Road heritage unit paid a visit to Cleveland (Ohio) today on train 145. I headed over to Rockport after I was done at Motor and caught it pulling up to CP Max after making it's lift. A tough place to shoot, you just have to live with all the poles and wires in the background. The sun decided to disappear too as the afternoon wore on, but since I was there I opted for one more shot of it departing town.
Waiting at CP Max for a signal to take headroom with the "Welcome to Cleveland Terminal" sign. Despite the cluttered background I took a roster of the 8100. Blasting out of Dodge under the ex NYC signal 192 bridge. That's our JB Hunt Jet, 21Q, passing on track one and the EOT of 14N on four lakefront. RAD Date: 11/15/12 15:19 Re: Three yellow stripes, three red stripes (NS NKP) Author: erie833 Here is the 21Q....note 8100 approaching in the distance.
A quick photo as I drove in to work earlier in the week of our power at Motor. A co-worker said the sunrise "looked like three stripes in the sky". Can't do much about the wires over my way either... :( RAD Date: 11/15/12 16:07 Re: Three yellow stripes, three red stripes (NS NKP) Author: im_trainman Incredible shots, my favorite heritage unit that has followed me all over the system so far, from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh and all the way down to Alabama, and that last shot, truly amazing, calendar shot.

Wow, I did not realize 145 got through Bellevue that quick these days. (Yes, I realize the train wouldn't be expected in Peru at 1945, but that still indicates a quick run through Bellevue and Fort Wayne.)
