Eastern Railroad Discussion > WC Spots in ChicagoDate: 05/21/01 22:25 WC Spots in Chicago Author: ntharalson A friend and I are heading for Chicago Memorial Day weekend. We shouldn't have any problem with one of our goals, getting Metra's F40C's. The Wisconsin Central is something else, however. Could anyone provide a couple of spots where we'll have a good chance of seeing some WC action?
TIA for any replies. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 05/22/01 04:54 RE: WC Spots in Chicago Author: Bob_In_Maine I railfan Chicago once or twice a year (for the past 10 years) and the only place I have seen WC is at the west end of Clearing Yard. I'm not sure of the route they take after that... maybe out the IHB and McCook??? Date: 05/22/01 08:47 RE: WC Spots in Chicago Author: calumet Try the junction at Franklin Park. It's a pretty busy place. The WC crosses Metra's ex-MILW line to Elgin, and the IHB line from the south terminates there.
