Out of Norfolk on 227; This is a Norfolk, Va. to Detroit, Michigan intermodal. Please correct me if I am wrong. Just an FYI everyone...

Norfolk-Harrisburg only, I believe.

227 is only Norfolk-Harrisburg now. What was once 227 west of Harrisburg is now the 21V.

According to HU.com, it is on the point.

227 gets on the Southern at Lynchburg and runs via Manassas, right?

HU.com, as of 4 hours ago, has 227 going north from Winfield, WV ................. if it's going to Harrisburg, that's one long, circuitous route, isn't it? Perhaps, from the OP, it is in fact going to Detroit? In looking at the train symbols link from PArailfan.com, it doesn't even list a 227, just a 228,which does show as a Harrisburg to Norfolk train.

I looked around on the Internet.....there is something about routing changes on June 13th, that 227 only goes to Norfolk now....but by no means consider this fact.

The xcrackia system that Heritageunits.com is a very accurate locator. I know the guy that developed this site and he provided me details on this. Sorry if I confused anyone; just going on what I was informed. Have a good weekend everyone.

And Haymarket is not on the line to Roanoke.

nslurganline most certainly is not lying.

Not saying he is. The folks who insisted this train was going to Detroit, however, are mistaken.

It's only accurate when the information fed into it is accurate. And when there is more than one place with the same name (e.g., "Coalmont, WV") and the intended location isn't recognized by that system, it can put things way out in left field compared with where they actually are.

The Winfield, WV listing has been deleted from HeritageUnits. I suspect that was a complete location-fail, since even if 227 were to run via the Pokey it wouldn't go anywhere near the Kanawha Valley.

The 6920 was sitting on the NS Lurgan Line former Reading Bridge at CP-FRONT ST in Harrisburg leading a very short 227 at 13:45 today (11/17).
