Edited to add that the two without number boards were also ex- Reading. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/22/12 04:41 by chuchubob. Of course, bi-levels and multi-level cars are all the rage so that doesn't help the market for single level cars.

Most likely those were the ones sitting in Woodbourne yd since early last spring. Shame to see them go. Date: 11/21/12 19:38 Re: SEPTA Budd Silverliners II going to scrap Author: OCtrainguy Even though the cars are going to scrap, the move itself is a real nice catch Bob. I like the lead engine.
Date: 11/21/12 21:22 Re: SEPTA Budd Silverliners II going to scrap Author: RDG_FP7_901 The 9006 and 9007 are definitely ex-Reading. The rest are ex-Pennsy. Rode the 9000's from their introduction until shortly before they were retired and while sturdy they were showing their age and 60's technology. Rebuilding them would probably not have been worth the expense but it pulls a string or two to see Philadelphia area, and fallen giant Budd Co., history headed to scrap.
