Date: 11/22/12 05:52 Re: NS(DL&W) 1074 ? Author: Forever-Railfan-45 Question for you fellow TO members? Where would be the best place to catch this before it goes down to Shire Oaks? Oldest daughter now wants to go as she is getting Heritage fever. I have been to Homestead, Pa. as I was told you will catch the LOADED coal trains coming out of Shire Oaks however the empties returning are another story. Help with this one please...thanks.

You have to go east of Port Perry if you want to get them on the main line. There are lots of good spots in the Greensburg and Latrobe areas. Closer to Pittsburgh, Wilmerding is also popular. I would also go PA 837 to Clairton, you can often find 3 or 4 trains parked along the line.

There are all kinds of good spots to shoot empty trains south of Shire Oaks, too. It depends on where the train is during daylight. Date: 11/22/12 10:27 Re: NS(DL&W) 1074 ?
