EMDX 1201 on 10/28/2012
Author: Vanakatherock

Hello everyone. I'm new here to Trainorders.com. I've watched over the website for a couple of months and decided to go ahead and become a member to share some of my captures. This is my first capture to share.

Taken on 10/28/2012

Location: Jackson, GA

The EMDX 1201 Caterpillar demonstrator locomotive made its way south towards Macon, GA before making the turn East to Savannah, GA. I waited all day on 10/27 for this locomotive to come through, only to find out it was stopped in Atlanta earlier in the day and combined with the military equipment and Union Pacific locomotives, and held overnight. When I woke up on 10/28, I checked the NS Heritage Locator Facebook page to discover it had departed Atlanta about 25 minutes before I awoke. I immediately jumped out of bed, through some clothes on and went out the door. I arrived in Jackson with about 15 minutes to spare.

Enjoy

Interesting how the heavier loads cause more grinding of flanges.
