2 weeks ago a special moved left Roanoke and went up the H-Line. Along with a shiny ES44AC #8113, the rear car carried an unusual load: the Knight Industires Two Thousand or K.I.T.T. - or as we know it the car from Knight Rider.

I happened to be around that day but was asked to keep quiet until the commercial officially debuted. Well last night it was posted on GE's YouTube channel so the cat is out of the bag.

There are 2 versions of this commercial - this is the shorter one. The longer version features KITT riding on the train. If you are like me and a child of the 80s - these are 2 of your favorite things!

This commercial was GEs idea with NS cooperation - thanks to everyone involved.

Haven't seen here it on TV yet. And yes, I fit into that "child of the 80's" thing and am partial to GE engines so THANKS for the preview.

GE actually got William Daniels back to do the voice - he was the original voice of KITT in the series.

As a fan of Knight Rider, that was cool!

KITT could at least done a turbo-boast leap over that GEVO. Plus, where did they get those clean boxcars from?
