Reading 1067 visits the Blue Ridge Grade

On cold and blustery November 24, 2012, I was blessed to bump into train S11 climbing Blue Ridge grade with the 1067 leading just east of Roanoke while in the area running some errands.

Photo 1: NS 38Q drops downhill toward Roanoke as it passes through a wide-open field situated in Elliston, VA with a pair of BNSF Dash9's piloting the train east.
Photo 2: After successfully traversing the grueling Blue Ridge grade spanning from Bedford to this location situated in Blue Ridge itself, NS S11 parades west toward Roanoke with Norfolk Southern's Reading Heritage locomotive doing the honors.
