Eastern Railroad Discussion > More signals falling - CSX Northern SubDate: 12/03/12 06:12 More signals falling - CSX Northern Sub Author: PowellWye Today is the cutover of signals up to JD Cabin, which includes the often photographed Vauces Center Siding, just south east of Chillicothe,OH. With the forecast for this past Saturday calling for some sun I hoped to make a day of shooting train in this section. CSX thought otherwise though and only sent one train this way during decent light, at least it was an eastbound. Pictured below are empty train E494 splitting a set of intermediates on the single track between RA Jct and MR Cabin. The new bidirectional signal is on the opposite side of the train west of the crossing. Next up is a comparison of the new and old at JD Cabin where the connection to the B&O Parkersburg Sub (now Renick Industrial Track) ties in to the Northern.

It was a good run, but scenes such as these are never to repeated on the C&O Northern. Thanks for the memories. CG Tower. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/03/12 10:11 by CGTower. Date: 12/03/12 16:36 Re: More signals falling - CSX Northern Sub Author: ns1000 GREAT pics everyone!!!

What is happing to all these old signals as they fall? I hope some of them fall into the right hands. It would be ashame if they all ended up in scrappers paradise. Date: 12/03/12 20:28 Re: More signals falling - CSX Northern Sub Author: billroland Down here CSX is sending them to scrappers.
